What is a Life Coach?
The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching honors the client as the expert in his/her life and work and believes that every client is creative, resourceful, and whole.
My definition: Coaching allows a client to move from where they are now to where they want to be.

What is Self Care?
My approach to Self Care Coaching will help support you in creating a specific program “For you, By You” to take the steps needed to live out your dreams. The program will help uncover your inner critic and will allow you to develop the Kryptonite to silence it. Working together I will support, challenge, encourage and believe in you. Because I know you already have what it takes to be a person living without regrets and/or excuses. My purpose is to hold the mirror up to show you what I see.

How is coahing differenct from Consulting? Therapy? Sports coaching? A best friend?
Coaching is similar to consulting. However, in a coaching relationship the coach stays with the client in a close partnership to help implement the new skills, changes and goals and to make sure that they happen. In consulting the consultant offers more know-how guidance and suggestions, often sessions are scheduled on as as-needed basis.
Coaching is not therapy. Coaches do not work on any psychological "problems" or get into your
past or deal much with understanding the human behavior. This knowledge may come as clients
move forward toward personal and professional goals that will give them the life that they really want,
but is not the focus of a coaching relationship.
Coaching includes several principles from sports coaching, like teamwork, going for the
goal, being your best. Unlike sports coaching, most professional coaching is not competition based or
win/lose. Life Coaches focus on strengthening their client’s skills, not on helping them beat the
other team. Life Coaches look for win/win solutions.
A best friend is wonderful to have. However, is your best friend a professional who you are willing to
trust to work with you on the most important aspects of your life and/or business? You can have both a
best friend and a coach.
